Burma Relief Network
On the night of May 2nd, 2008, the Category 4 Cyclone Nargis swept across the delta area of the impoverished Southeast Asian country of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), killing at least 130,000 people and rendering 1.5 to 2 million homeless. Foreign diplomats and aid agencies in the country have warned that the death toll may even exceed 150,000.  The toll of people killed, missing, or affected remains difficult to assess as the numbers continue to increase daily.

BRN mobilized medical teams around Yangon and Delta area, providing drinking water, food and immediate medical care. BRN has provided safe water supply for the long run in BOGALE area by drilling deep tube wells. The numbers are going up and 6 tube wells have been finished in strategic villages.
