Safe Water Supply
Due to desperately in need of safe water in the delta area, Burma Relief Network
mobile team contracted with a tube well drilling company for 8 tube wells in the
area where the BRN mobile planned to provided medical care. Due to high demand
time, BRN has agreed to provide meals, additional transportation costs, fuel
costs in additional to their labor costs for the tube well drilling.
1. SET SUN village (N 16° 03' 30.75",
E 95° 22' 43.79")
Started on 20 June 2008. Initial water at 280 feet but the water is not good
enough and the tube well area has to moved. Lost the pipes. In another area,
there is a good water at 720 feet. The village requested to have a gas engine to
pump the water to the overhead tank. Job finished in 29 June 2008. (Deep
Tube Well, 720 feet)
2. MAE DAW ZU village (N 16° 07'
11.81", E 95° 23' 10.88")
Started on 31 June 2008. There is a good water at 720 feet.
The water sample has been sent for testing including Arsenic content. A hand
pump and 600 gallon overhead tank was provided. (Deep Tube Well, 720 feet)

Started on 1 July 2008. There is a good water at 720 feet. The
water sample has been sent for testing including Arsenic content. A hand pump

4. GA YAN CHAUNG village (N 16° 06'

Started on 7 July 2008. There is a
good water at 720 feet. The water sample has been sent for testing including
Arsenic content. A hand pump and 600 gallon overhead tank was provided. (Deep

5. KYON SEIN GYI village (N 16° 12'

Start on 22 July 2008. The water
sample will be sent for testing including Arsenic content. A hand pump and
600 gallon overhead tank was provided.
6. PON NA YEIK village (N 16° 04'
48.48", E 95° 23' 58.46")
Start on 27 July 2008. The water
sample will be sent for testing including Arsenic content. A hand pump and 600
gallon overhead tank was provided.
